Soy sauce chicken
INGREDIENTS
For 4 Servings:
- 600 g chicken breast
- 1 garlic clove
- 20 g fresh ginger
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp water (to dissolve the cornstarch)
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp seed oil (like sunflower oil)
- Salt, to taste
- Chives or sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Cut the chicken breast into small cubes.
- Peel the ginger and garlic, then grate them.
- In a bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in 1 tbsp of water.
- In another bowl, mix soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, and the grated ginger and garlic.
- Heat the seed oil in a nonstick pan.
- Add the chicken and sauté over medium-high heat for about 5–6 minutes, until golden. Season with a pinch of salt.
- Pour the soy mixture into the pan with the chicken.
- Let it cook for 2–3 minutes, then stir in the dissolved cornstarch to thicken the sauce.
- Cook for another minute until glossy and well coated.
- Serve hot, optionally topped with chives or sesame seeds.
