Enrico Derflingher

Enrico Derflingher, born in Lecco in 1962, after training at the Bellagio Hospitality Institute, embarked on a learning journey in Europe's finest hotels and restaurants. The turning point came when he became the personal chef to the British Royal Family, followed by his appointment as chef at the White House during the tenure of George W. Bush senior. His prestige was solidified by receiving the first Michelin Star in 1994 in Florence, presented by the renowned chef Paul Bocuse. Success continued with managing the Terrazza dell’Eden, achieving 2 Michelin stars in Rome, and later as Executive Chef at the Palace Hotel in St. Moritz. He has received numerous international awards and recognitions, including the title of "Best Chef in the World" in 2008 and the "Golden Truffle of Asti" award for promoting Italian cuisine worldwide. He was appointed Ambassador of Italian Cuisine in the World and held leadership roles in international culinary associations. He represented Italy in global events such as the Beijing and London Olympics and orchestrated luxury weddings. In 2014, he was appointed "Commander of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and Ambassador of Italian Cuisine in the World." He continued to lead significant culinary initiatives, including participating in Expo Milano 2015 as Vice President of Euro Toques International and later as President. He initiated ambitious projects in various countries, including a new venture in Taiwan in 2016 and new projects in China in 2022. He also represented Italy in the candidacy of "Italian cuisine" for inscription on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list in New York in 2023.
